If you followed Big 12 football this season, or Arizona State football for any length of time, you know that Cam Skattebo is a baller.
After spending two seasons at Sacramento State, Skattebo transferred to Arizona State and became an immediate impact player for Kenny Dillingham in 2023, rushing for 783 yards and nine touchdowns, while adding 286 yards and one receiving touchdown.
Then, in 2024, Skattebo became the impact player for Dillingham’s squad, rushing for an ASU single-season record 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns.
With his eligibility now exhausted, Skattebo will have to take his talents to the NFL, and in a TikTok interview, he might’ve tipped his hand on where he’d like to end up.
Trying to imagine all the ways that an offensive mind like Andy Reid could utilize Skattebo makes my head spin, but man would it be fun. The Chiefs should have a shot at him too, as running backs rarely go in the first round.
Through the first several weeks of the regular season, Skattebo wasn’t getting all that much attention, but after scoring three touchdowns the last two weeks of the regular season, and another three touchdowns in the Big 12 Championship Game, Skattebo was one of the biggest talking points of the Peach Bowl.
In the Peach Bowl on Wednesday, and against the best defense in the country, Skattebo finished the day with 284 all-purpose yards, 143 rushing yards (4.9 ypc), and three touchdowns. In the fourth quarter alone, Skattebo had a 42-yard passing touchdown, a 62-yard reception, and a two-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game at 24-24. Skattebo became Arizona State’s all-time single-season rushing leader and single-season touchdown leader in this game.
