Transfer portal journeyman Jaden Rashada has elected to continue his time elsewhere after spending the previous season with the Georgia Bulldogs.

Rashada, a top-ranked prospect from Pittsburg, California, spent his freshman season at Arizona State and hopped into the transfer portal.

The Jaden Rashada saga has been a perfect look at how the transfer total has affected modern-day athletics. As noted by On3’s Hayes Fawcett, since June of 2022, Rashada has made the following decisions:

  • June ’22: Commits to Miami
  • November ’22: Flips to Florida
  • January ’23: Decommits from Florida
  • February ’23: Signs with Arizona State
  • April ’24: Transfers to Georgia
  • January ’25: Re-enters Transfer Portal

In addition to his constant program changes, Rashada got into a public dispute with Florida head coach Billy Napier and some Florida boosters, which resulted in a public lawsuit.

Rashada filed a lawsuit against Napier and UF booster Hugh Hathcock, among others, for a failed NIL deal that would’ve paid him $13.85 million.

In the suit, Rashada claimed that when he signed his national letter of intent with the Gators on December 21, 2022, it was with the understanding that Napier promised Rashada’s father a $1 million “partial payment” on that day. Rashada allegedly never received that payment, and the UF boosters never held up their end of the deal either.

While a track record that includes Miami, Florida, Arizona State, and Georgia in a span of two seasons may not be appealing to some, Rashada’s upside as a Top 50 prospect should be more than enough to find himself a new home.
