It’s no secret that Kirk Herbstreit has taken tremendous amounts of flack on social media over the years.

To cope with that, Herbstreit elected to delete his Twitter, largely due to feedback on some of his takes on the College Football Playoff.

In an interview with On3’s Andy Staples and Ari Wasserman, Herbstreit revealed that he deleted his Twitter account and that his son now runs the account.

“I don’t have it,” Herbstreit said. “My son tweets stuff out. I don’t read anything. I don’t see anything.”

If so, Herbstreit’s son does one hell of an impression of his father.

Herbstreit became public enemy number one in the eyes of Florida State fans after he advocated for them to be left out of the College Football Playoff in 2024 despite finishing the season with a perfect 13-0 record.

Later on in the interview, Herbstreit chose to discuss the notion of his SEC bias by focusing on the brands of the four remaining teams and what it would do for ratings.

“We could not have paid for a better final four with Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, and Texas,” Herbstreit said. “The only one missing is Michigan. So, this idea that we want Alabama, Texas A&M, and Auburn. Are you kidding me?”

Regardless of his social media activity or not, Herbstreit continues to dig himself into a hole when discussing the current CFP model. The Cotton Bowl matchup with the final remaining SEC team in the Playoff is set to kick off on Saturday, January 10th, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
