Former Oregon wide receiver Ryan Pellum has been arrested for after being accused of pistol-whipping a person on Christmas Day, according to a report from KEZI.
Pellum was arrested in Springfield, Oregon, on a nationwide extraditable warrant issued from his hometown of Long Beach, California, where the alleged incident occurred.
According to an affidavit, Pellum is alleged to have pistol-whipped a person, causing injuries to a victim’s head that required stitches, before firing two rounds in an unknown direction. His arrest warrant was issued on a charge of assault with the use of a firearm.
Eugene police reportedly found Pellum at an apartment in Springfield and contacted him on Wednesday, when he allegedly told police that he knew he had a warrant in California because he’d received phone calls about it, but didn’t elaborate further.
Pellum was released on bail after his arrest earlier this week; bail was posted by an unknown person for an unknown amount on Thursday after Taylor waved extradition, according to the report.
Pellum is due back in court on January 23, according to court documents.
Pellum entered the transfer portal on Monday with a “do-not-contact” tag after appearing in just four games for the Ducks during the 2024 season.
