There continues to be more Big 12 coaches getting looks by the NFL.
On Monday night, the San Francisco 49ers announced they had finished interviewing Iowa State wide receivers coach Noah Pauley for the team’s offensive coordinator position.
Teams are now required to share these interviews publicly, which the team did on X.
Pauley joined Iowa State’s staff prior to the 2023 season, after being hired away from the same position at North Dakota State. Pauley was on staff at North Dakota State during 49ers quarterback Trey Lance’s time with the Bison. He began his career as a student assistant at Minnesota Duluth and worked his way up to offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach.
Meantime, Pauley’s boss, Matt Campbell, continues to get mentioned in various NFL job openings. While Campbell isn’t believed to be a favorite for any of the jobs, it’s telling that his name is, once again, getting attention in NFL circles.
Iowa State is coming off an 11-3 season that saw the Cyclones reach the Big 12 Championship Game, lost to Arizona State, and then beat Miami in the Pop Tarts Bowl.
