Colorado head coach Deion Sanders was named atop the list for the first couple of weeks of the Dallas Cowboys’ coaching search, and even after Eagles’ offensive coordinator Kellen Moore took over as the betting favorite, it was Sanders who was getting all of the attention.

However, as of late, the DraftKings odds for the next Cowboys head coach have shifted dramatically, with Dallas offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer now the favorite at -250 odds.

Moore is tied with Schottenheimer (-250) as the favorite, with Kliff Kingsbury (+350) is now sitting with the third-best odds, and Robert Saleh having the fourth-best odds (+450).

Meanwhile, Sanders’ odds have fallen significantly, sitting at +750 odds, and the seventh-best odds overall, to land the job.

Take a look at the odds from DraftKings, as of January 20, 2025.

  • Kellen Moore (PHI OC): -250
  • Brian Schottenheimer (DAL OC): -250
  • Kliff Kingsbury (WSH OC): +350
  • Robert Saleh (Former NYJ HC): +450
  • Ben Johnson (DET OC): +550
  • Joe Brady (BUF OC): +650
  • Deion Sanders (CU HC): +750
  • Aaron Glenn (DET DC): +850
  • Liam Coen (TB OC): +1200
  • Steve Sarkisian (UT HC): +1200
  • Bill Belichick (UNC HC): +1200
  • Jason Witten (Former DAL TE): +1400
  • Brian Flores (MIN DC): +1400

The most significant part of this report for the Big 12, obviously, is that Sanders is no longer at or near the top of the list to become the Cowboys’ head coach.

So, for the time being, Colorado fans can take a breath and look toward 2025, with Deion Sanders at the center of their program..
