Arizona State vs. West Virginia Basketball Predictions

West Virginia Basketball has been one of the best stories in college basketball this season, with the team firmly in the race for a Big 12 title. Sitting at 13-4, the Mountaineers are tied for third place alongside Texas Tech (4-2) and Kansas (4-2), trailing Arizona (5-1), Iowa State (5-1), and Houston (6-0).

Led by Big 12 Player of the Year candidate Javon Small (19.8 PPG), the Mountaineers hold a 9-1 overall record on their home court. Arizona State, in away games, is an abysmal 0-4 and continues to struggle on the road.

While the Sun Devils continue to figure things out, they are receiving production from a cast of five different players scoring in double figures. The group of BJ Freeman, Joson Sanon, Basheer Jihad, Alston Mason, and Jayden Quintance are scoring an average of 60.4 points per game.

The major statistical difference in the matchup other than the home vs. away records for the pair comes when discussing Arizona State’s offense and West Virginia’s defense. The Sun Devils are listed as the Big 12’s tenth-best scoring offense (74.8 PPG), while West Virginia is a top-four defensive unit, surrendering just 63.8 points per game.
