There’s not a league in college football with more volatility than you’ll find in the Big 12, and that was more the case than ever in 2024.
This time last year, you could’ve gotten +10000 odds on Arizona State winning the Big 12 Championship, while Utah, who finished the year with just two wins in conference play, was getting +350.
It was that wild in 2024.
With the league’s makeup staying the same from one year to the next for the first time since 2022, we have an idea of what the conference is going to look like, and the only way to sum it up in one word is “chaotic.”
Taking a peek ahead at next year’s National Championship odds shows just how unpredictable the league really is. On Monday, Circa Sports released their odds for the 2025-26 CFP Championship and CFB Fight Club took the liberty of gathering up the Big 12 programs:
Utah is coming off a 5-7 season and managed just two wins in Big 12 play but finds itself tied with Kansas State with the best odds of any Big 12 team to win a title in 2025.
Meanwhile, BYU—which went 11-2 and returns the majority of its production—is tied for the eighth-best odds in the league at +50000.
Can somebody make it make sense?
