While Colorado defensive back Shilo Sanders has his sights set on playing in the NFL this season, his stock is moving further and further down the list of draft-eligible NFL prospects.
In a recent X post from NFL Rookie Watch, Sanders was seen struggling at the East-West Shrine Bowl practices, getting “picked on” in one-on-one drills and team periods.
“Shilo Sanders has reportedly been ‘struggling’ at the East-West Shrine Bowl practices,” the post reads. “Sanders has reportedly been getting ‘taken advantage of’ in 1v1’s and has been getting picked on in team periods. Many in attendance reportedly believe Sanders ‘has not raised his stock’ with his performance in these practices. Several NFL scouts projected Sanders to be a day-three pick since entering the draft. The Colorado DB has some WORK to do.”
Sanders spent two seasons with the Buffaloes and recorded 134 total tackles, five forced fumbles, one sack, one interception, and two pass breakups. He spent six seasons in college football with three different programs, including South Carolina, Jackson State, and Colorado.
As of now, representatives at the NFL Mock Draft Database have Sanders listed as the 220th overall pick as a seventh-round selection. Will Sanders break out of his rut and shine at the Shrine Bowl? That appears to be growing more and more unlikely with every passing day.
