In the latest NCAA Tournament projection from ESPN’s Joe Lunardi, three teams from the Big 12 Conference were listed on the bubble.
The three teams listed on the bubble from the league are Cincinnati, UCF, and Arizona State.
UCF was listed on the right side of the bubble, listed as the last team in from the recent update. Arizona State and Cincinnati, however, have some work to do if they plan to reach post-season play in 2025.
The Knights (13-6, 4-4) sit in the middle of the pack on the Big 12, with wins over TCU, Arizona State, Colorado, and No. 22 Texas Tech. Though the Sun Devils and Bearcats are listed just a few places behind Johnny Dawkins’ squad, the pair have a significantly worse resume with league records of 2-6 respectively.
While each team has 12 more games to bolster their resume, Arizona State leads the pack with the most Quad 1 opportunities left on their schedule. The Sun Devils will have three games against Top 25 opponents in the final stretch of games, while UCF has two, and Cincinnati holds just one.
With UCF in the NCAA Tournament field in the eyes of Joe Lunardi, the Big 12 conference has eight teams reaching March Madness if the tournament tipped off today.
