One growing topic in the realm of college basketball has been late-night broadcasts for the NCAA Tournament.

On Tuesday, NCAA’s March Madness crew made a welcomed change to the schedule for the 2025 National Championship Game.

The 2025 National Championship game in blank has been moved forward 30 minutes from the usual start time of 9:20 EST to 8:50 EST in hopes of fans being able to stay up for the full contest. In years past, fans have had to watch the cinematic ‘One Shining Moment’ montage late into the night and sometimes early into the next day.

While individuals across the world of college basketball appeared to greatly appreciate the move, many fans on social media voiced their opinion that the game is still too late.

Regardless, March Madness is one of the greatest post-season tournaments in spots, and while the group may not need to shift start times incredibly drastically to bring in new viewers, it says a lot about the organization’s willingness to change for the betterment of the fan experience.
