On Wednesday morning, representatives from 247Sports released their final selections for every five-star prospect in the Class of 2025.
The group included one Big 12 commit, Kansas State’s Linkon Cure, who jumped from a four-star just outside the Top 35 to one of 32 five-star prospects in his class.
“We love Cure for his dynamic athleticism, soft hands, and potential as a modern pass-catching tight end,” 247Sports’ Gabe Brooks wrote. “At nearly 2,000 career receiving yards and averaging more than 20 yards per catch, he’s a mismatch creator who uses his hoops background to dominate at the catch point. While his blocking is a work in progress, his physicality and alignment flexibility make him a future focal point of a passing attack with clear NFL upside.”
Chris Klieman and the Wildcats fended off some incredible programs for the Goodland, Kansas, native as Cure received offers from a total of 28 different programs. The biggest threats to the Wildcats were Oregon, Texas A&M, and Kansas, heading into national signing day.
Coming out of Goodland High School in the Class of 2025, Cure was listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 30th-ranked player. He also checked in as the top-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Kansas.
Cure heads to Manhattan in 2025 alongside some incredible athletes from the state of Kansas. Cure joins an offense that features prominent local stars like junior quarterback Avery Johnson and junior running back Dylan Edwards, each of whom is receiving odds to win the Heisman Trophy this fall.
With his commitment, Cure became the top-ranked commit in the history of Kansas State Football.
