Joe Lunardi released his latest bracketology update on Friday morning, and there’s some real chaos building for the Big 12 conference.
Just one day ago, the Big 12 saw its number of projected tournament teams drop to seven as UCF fell from the last team into the first team out.
The Knights weren’t the only Big 12 team on the bubble, either, as Lunardi also had BYU among the First Four Out and Arizona State in the Next Four Out.
On Friday, Lunardi provided yet another update and it’s shaken things up for the league once again.
Let’s take a look at the projected teams in their seeding: Iowa State (1), Houston (2), Kansas (3), Arizona (5), Texas Tech (6), Baylor (9), West Virginia (9), UCF (11).
UCF jumps back into the tournament as the last team in, and, to make things even more interesting, BYU and Arizona State are both listed among the First Four out.
In the scenario listed above, the matchups based on seeding would look like this.
(1) Iowa State vs. (16) Omaha/American
(2) Houston vs. (15) Towson
(3) Kansas vs. (14) Jacksonville State
(5) Arizona vs. (12) Arkansas State
(6) Texas Tech vs. (11) Texas
(8) Utah State vs. (9) Baylor
(8) UConn vs. (9) West Virginia
(11) New Mexico vs. (11) UCF
The 2025 March Madness tournament will start with Selection Sunday on March 16, with the First Four scheduled for March 18-19. The First Round of the 2025 Men’s basketball tournament will commence on March 20-21 and will end with the National Championship Game on April 7 in San Antonio, Texas.
