The next chapter in the saga of Jerome Tang vs. Iowa State unfolded on Saturday, with the Wildcats taking on No. 3 Iowa State in Ames, Iowa.
The matchup was a massive talking point for both parties, as the last time Kansas State made the trip, Tang and his staff accused T.J. Otzelberger and Iowa State of spying on their huddles during timeouts.
Iowa State’s fanbase did not forget the situation as their fans made sure that Coach Tang knew that the Wildcats were in hostile territory.
Both Jerome Tang and T.J. Otzelberger had moved forward from the event, and Tang was even asked about the scenario prior to their trip to Ames.
Tang mentioned that the thought had not even crossed his mind, and that the team is going to try and just to one of the toughest environments in college basketball.
“No adjustment,” Tang said. “We are going to go up there and just enjoy the environment and see what we can do to get a road win.”
While Kansas State has been one of the most inconsistent teams in college basketball this season, they came out hot against Iowa State at Hilton Coliseum. The Wildcats took a two-point lead into halftime, 37-35, against a team that had not trailed for a single minute in the second half of basketball on their home court.
Kansas State ended with a major upset win, 80-61, over No. 3 Iowa State.
