Iowa State vs. Kansas Predictions
Iowa State’s loss to Kansas State was one of the most unpredictable outcomes of the Big 12 regular season through the first ten games, as the team lacked their usual effort and intensity. Keshon Gilbert, Curtis Jones, and Dishon Jackson struggled from the field which hurt the team’s production. Their bounce back will be crucial in Lawrence.
Veteran guard Tamin Lipsey had an impressive outing which kept the group in it, posting 20 points on 6-12 shooting. He will have his hands full dealing with Kansas’ Dajuan Harris, who is widely regarded as one of the country’s best defenders.
The Jayhawks have been shown some uncharacteristic tendencies in 2024-25 as well, with the team struggling to click from a defensive standpoint. Kansas is 1-2 in their last three outings, averaging 82.3 points per game on offense but surrendering 86.7 points per game on defense.
All-American center Hunter Dickinson has been the model of consistency for the group, but an underwhelming portal class headlined by AJ Storr, who is averaging career lows in scoring, minutes, and overall impact, has complicated the recipe for success.

For Kansas to win, they will need someone outside of Hunter Dickinson and Zeke Mayo to score. If not, Iowa State should come back with better energy, intensity, and focus than the previous week and take care of business.
