Arizona vs. Kansas State Predictions

The Arizona Wildcats have found themselves in a tight battle for the top spot in the Big 12 Conference, locked in a dogfight with Kelvin Sampson and the Houston Cougars. They’ve won six straight, which includes wins over No. 13 Texas Tech and No. 3 Iowa State.

Kansas State, however, has done something incredibly similar with a five-game winning streak of their own that includes victories over No. 16 Kansas, No. 3 Iowa State, and No. 23 West Virginia. After taking down their in-state rival in the Sunflower Showdown on Saturday, K-State’s record against Top 25 teams in Bramlage Coliseum jumped to 12-3 under Jerome Tang.

The matchup features a clash between two Big 12 Players of the Week, David N’Guessan (POW) and Tobe Awaka (Newcomer), who have been on fire as of late. N’Guessan is averaging 21 points and 7.5 rebounds in their last two games, while Awaka averaged a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds in the same stretch.

When looking at statistics, it’s tough to say that Arizona has a massive advantage in the game simply due to the drastic changes that Kansas State has undergone. Still, they remain one of the nation’s best offenses, averaging 82.8 points per game. If Caleb Love can get going early, Tommy Lloyd’s group will have a better shot at clipping the wings of red-hot Kansas State, but if not, it could mean trouble.
