Another chapter in the ESPN vs. Big 12 Conference saga unfolded on Monday night with a ridiculous update from the sports provider.
Initially scheduled for Big Monday coverage on ESPN, the matchup between Baylor and No. 6 Houston is set to tip off at 9:00 p.m. central. That came with a downside, however, as the company put out an interesting update.
In anticipation of Luke Doncic’s debut with the Los Angeles Lakers, coverage of the Big 12 matchup will be taken off of ESPN and moved to ESPNU upon tip-off of the Lakers vs. Jazz.
While complaints are being thrown at ESPN for their consistent disrespect to the Big 12, the bigger question is why wouldn’t the group move the best game of the three being broadcasted on linear television in favor of bouncing either North Carolina vs. No. 23 Clemson or even Charlotte vs. FAU?
Naturally, many college basketball fans pushed back on the ridiculous actions of ESPN for not broadcasting the best game of the evening in its entirety.
As unsurprising as it continues to be, ESPN shows time and time again that it not only despises the Big 12 Conference and its incredible product but also continues to trample over college sports as a whole in the best interest of generating clicks and views.
