Arizona softball moved to 6-1 on the season with a pair of wins over the South Alabama Jaguars, who are coming off a terrific season in 2024, which included an appearance in the Gainesville Regional.
The Wildcats and Jaguars played last year in Tuscaloosa, ending in a 1-1 tie after 11 innings, but on Thursday night, Miranda Stoddard made sure that didn’t happen again.
Stoddard, a two-way player in her second season with the Wildcats (via Kentucky), had a miraculous evening at the plate, as she went a perfect 6-for-6 over two games.
But that’s not even the most impressive part. Here’s her first hit of the evening.
And, here’s the second.
The third…
And how about the fourth?
In all, Stoddard went 6-for-6 with four home runs, a triple (that bounced off the outfield wall), seven RBI, and a walk on her seventh at-bat.
THe Wildcats won the first game, 6-5, and blew the Jaguars out of the water in Game 2 with a 15-0 win.
Arizona will be back on the field Friday afternoon against Cal State Fullerton at 3:00 p.m.
