On Saturday night, Kansas State makes the trip to Provo, Utah, to clash with the BYU Cougars at the Marriott Center.

The matchup holds some serious weight regarding the 2025 NCAA Tournament, as both teams appeared on the bubble in Joe Lunardi’s latest bracketology update.

The Cougars (16-8, 7-6 in Big 12 play) are currently listed in the tournament field as the 65th-ranked team in the field of 68. They are coming off of a win over a fellow tournament team, the West Virginia Mountaineers, in one of the Big 12’s toughest road environments in Morgantown, West Virginia.

Kansas State (13-11, 7-6 in Big 12 play) has been one of the wildest stories in college basketball this season. The group significantly underwhelmed preseason expectations, dropping 11 of their first 18 games. The unit started out 1-6 in conference play, and since then, they are 7-6 and on a six-game winning streak.

With wins over No. 23 West Virginia, Oklahoma State, No. 3 Iowa State, Arizona State, No. 16 Kansas, and No. 13 Arizona, the Wildcats have climbed all the back onto the bubble. K-State sits at No. 73 in the eyes of Joe Lunardi, within striking distance of paydirt.

The Cougars are listed as 7.5-point favorites in the matchup and will greet Jerome Tang and company at 8:00 p.m. central.
