Kansas State vs. Utah Predictions

For Kansas State, the fire finally went out against BYU at the Marriott Center. The Wildcats were on a six-game win streak with multiple Top 25 wins during the stretch before stumbling out of the gates and falling to Kevin Young’s squad. They desperately need to win against the Utes, as the Wildcats have very little wiggle room in the final six games.

Despite being 1-1 in their last two, Jerome Tang’s team needs more production out of Illinois transfer Coleman Hawkins. He’s been really impressive for K-State in 2024-25, averaging 10.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game, but in his last two outings, he’s recorded just 12 total points and 10 rebounds.

Utah shocked the majority of college basketball fans with an upset win against No. 17 Kansas, but this doesn’t exactly feel like the Kansas of old. The game comes at a tough time for the Utes in a major letdown spot off of a Top 25 win, while Kansas State has the opportunity to steer the ship back on course after their disappointing loss to BYU. Senior guard Gabe Madsen leads the group in scoring, averaging nearly 16 points per night.

When looking at statistics, the two programs are fairly evenly matched as the Utes enter the game with the Big 12’s eighth-best offense and 12th-best defense, while Kansas State is listed at No. 11 in both categories.
