Arizona softball’s Miranda Stoddard was named the NFCA Player of the Week and Big 12 Player of the Week after a breakout weekend for the 11th-ranked Wildcats.
Stoddard, a graduate senior, was unstoppable at the plate all weekend long, going 10-for-12 (.833) at the play with six home runs, a triple, 12 RBI, 30 total bases, four walks, a .824 on-base percentage, and an absurd 2.500 slugging percentage.
Stoddard is the second Wildcat to earn Big 12 Player of the Week honors this season, following Kaiah Altmeyer last week.

Via Arizona Softball – Arizona Softball’s Miranda Stoddard was named the NFCA Player of the Week and the Big 12 Player of the Week, announced by the coaches association and the conference on Tuesday. Stoddard was also named a Softball America Star of the Week. This marks the first time Stoddard has earned NFCA and Big 12 weekly honors. Stoddard is Arizona’s second Big 12 Player of the Week this season following Kaiah Altmeyer’s honor last week.
Stoddard had a breakout weekend at the plate during the Bear Down Fiesta in the second week of the season. The graduate led Arizona with an .833 batting average (10-for-12), six home runs, a triple, 12 RBI, 30 total bases, four walks, a 2.500 slugging percentage and a .824 on-base percentage.
The Anaheim, California native opened the Bear Down Fiesta by hitting four home runs across Arizona’s doubleheader against South Alabama. She hit two home runs in each game, driving in seven runs and totaling 20 bases in the doubleheader. Stoddard went 6-for-6 at the plate and her first two home runs were hit in back-to-back at-bats against the Jaguars.
The following day, Stoddard hit her fifth home run of the weekend and drove in four runs in Arizona’s run-rule win over Cal State Fullerton. Stoddard’s sixth home run came against Ohio to help Arizona beat the Bobcats.
Following the second week of the season, Stoddard leads the Big 12 in batting average (.611), home runs (6), home runs per game (0.67), slugging percentage (1.722), and total bases (31).
Stoddard and the Wildcats will host the Hillenbrand Invitational at Hillenbrand Stadium this Thursday, February 20-Sunday, February 23. Arizona will welcome No. 1 Texas, No. 20 Stanford, Colorado State, and UC Davis for the tournament.
