Kansas vs. BYU Predictions
It’s no secret that Kansas Basketball has been fading fast in 2024-25. After being awarded the honor of preseason No. 1, the Jayhawks have nearly fallen out of the AP Top 25. The group whiffed on several highly-ranked players in the transfer portal, namely AJ Storr and Rylan Griffen, while the returners in Lawrence appear to have regressed.
The two lone bright spots for Bill Self’s squad have been Hunter Dickinson and Zeke Mayo, who are the team’s only double-digit scorers. Dickinson is posting a near double-double per game with 16.4 points and 9.5 rebounds per game, while Mayo is recording 15 points per contest. With the BYU Cougars having as deep of a lineup as they do, Kansas will need production from beyond the pair of stars to win on the road.

Kevin Young’s squad is fresh off of a win over red-hot Kansas State, a game that the Cougars won by double digits. They face a Kansas team limping into the matchup, having lost four of their last seven games. Junior forward Richie Saunders leads the way for the program, averaging 15 points and 4.5 rebounds on 50% shooting from the field.
When looking at statistics, the two programs’ strengths and weaknesses match up fairly well as the Cougars hold the Big 12’s fourth-best offense and eighth-best defense, while Kansas enters the game at No. 7 and No. 4, respectively
