On Saturday morning, Big 12 Commissioner Brett Yormark made a stop in Houston for the massive game between the Cougars and Cyclones.

While in attendance, Yormark joined the College GameDay crew to discuss the Big 12’s stance in the world of college athletics.

When asked about working to create revenue opportunities to even the gap between leagues with the Big Ten and SEC, Yomark candidly noted, “There’s never been a better time to be part of this conference than right now.”

“I look at where we’ve come from over the last two-and-a-half years, love how we’ve reimagined the conference, and most importantly, the future and where we’re going,” Yormark said. “There’s never been a better time to be part of this conference than right now. For our fans and for our schools, we’re in the value-creation business, so it’s something I spend a lot of time on, and I’m excited about where we’re going.”

He also shut down the narrative that anyone else has a better basketball league than the Big 12, saying, “Over the last five to ten years, there’s no debate who the No. 1 basketball conference in America has been, and it’s been the Big 12. And if you think about it, with realignment over the last two years, we got better. Think about Arizona, think about Houston here, think about BYU. That being said, I do expect us to have a presence in San Antonio. That is the expectation when you think about Big 12 Basketball, and when we’re there, I think it further credentializes us as the No. 1 basketball conference in America.”
