Just a few months ago, the Texas Tech football stadium project got a $5 million boost on Thursday courtesy of Patrick Mahomes and his wife, Brittany.
According to a press release, the $5 million will go towards the $242 million South End Zone and Dustin R. Womble Football Center project. The $5 million that Patrick Mahomes and his wife are donating marks the final gift for the historic Campaign for Fearless Champions.
Texas Tech plans to name its walkthrough area at the Womble Football Center after Mahomes thanks to his donation. Also, Texas Tech’s quarterback room and the offensive coordinator’s office in the New South End Zone building will be named after Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes spent three years as the Red Raiders quarterback, before being drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Mahomes finished his Texas Tech career with over 11,000 passing yards, 93 touchdown passes and 29 interceptions.
