While the Oklahoma State Cowboys haven’t been very competitive on the basketball court this year, off the court, the Cowboys’ student section has continued to make attempts to boost student turnouts.
One example of this was the Oklahoma State student newspaper handing out copies with an iconic cover: a photo of Iowa State head coach T.J. Otzelberger, with a caption that reads, “Get a bigger shirt, bro.”
While Oklahoma State is listed as a heavy underdog in the matchup, Iowa State has a shot of missing two of their key players in the backcourt due to injuries. Guards Keshon Gilbert and Curtis Jones have been designated with a game-time decision tag for Tuesday’s game vs. Oklahoma State.
Jones and Gilbert have been two key pieces of the ninth-ranked Cyclones this year, with the duo leading the team in scoring. Jones is one of the Big 12’s best scorers, averaging 17.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game, while Gilbert is posting 14.1 points, 4.5 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per contest.
Tuesday night’s game between the Cowboys and the Cyclones kicks off at 7:00 p.m. central at Gallagher-Iba Arena in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
