On Saturday, Steve Lutz and the Oklahoma State Cowboys added a new name to the Class of 2025 with the commitment of four-star center Ben Ahmed.

Ahmed, a 6-foot-10 prospect from Putnam, Connecticut, chose the Cowboys over offers from six different schools, including Miami, Georgie Tech, Iowa, Rutgers, and more.

Coming out of Putnam Science Academy in the Class of 2025, Ahmed is listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 98th-ranked prospect. He also checks in as the 15th-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Connecticut.

“Ahmed is a wide-bodied center and a massive physical presence,” 247Sports’ Adam Finkelstein said. “He has a broad frame with huge shoulders, long arms (nearly 7-foot-3 wingspan), and is absolutely immovable in the lane (weighed in at 303 pounds in July). While he sometimes plays a plotting style and definitely needs to commit himself to his conditioning, he’s actually a deceptively good runner for his size when he decides to fully sprint.”

“Where Ahmed thrives is on the glass,” Finkelstein continued. “He takes up so much space, has such an extended reach, and magnetic hands. He’s a high-volume rebounder and consistently puts up double-doubles. He’s also a true scoring threat with his back to the basket. He maximizes his size and physicality to get to point-blank range whenever possible.”

With his commitment, Ahmed became the third player to join Oklahoma State in the Class of 2025, alongside four-star shooting guard Ryan Crotty and three-star center Mekhi Ragland.
