The Texas Tech Red Raiders and Kansas Jayhawks continue Big 12 Conference men’s basketball action on Saturday, March 1st, 2025, in Lawrence, Kansas.
Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. central. Texas Tech (21-7, 12-5 Big 12) enters the contest as the No. 10 team in the country, while Kansas (19-9, 10-7) is unranked.
Texas Tech comes into this game after a home loss against Houston, and could be without Darrion Williams and Chance McMillian again. Meanwhile, Kansas is looking to build on their first back-to-back wins in more than a month.
Hunter Dickinson is coming off arguably his best game of the season but will face a much tougher test in Texas Tech, even if they are short-handed. JT Toppin has been one of the best players in the conference this season, so this clash has some big-time potential.
Here is a preview of Saturday’s game.

Texas Tech vs. Kansas Predictions
My confidence in picking this game all comes down to whether Texas Tech gets its guards back for this game. If Williams and McMillian are back, I like the Red Raiders chances a lot more. But, with the Big 12 Tournament right around the corner and Houston all but locking up the No. 1 seed with their win in Lubbock on Monday, how likely is it that we’ll see them return on Saturday?
Kansas really needs to pick up a win here, as they’ve fallen down to a No. 6 seed after their recent struggles, and if they can build on what we saw from them in the last two games, there’s reason to believe that they can get it done at home.
I think a short-handed Red Raiders team goes in to Lawrence and puts up more than a good fight on the road, but in the end, KU ends up getting a much-needed victory to give them win No. 20 on the year, and a valuable ranked win late in the season.
