Joe Lunardi has released his latest bracketology update after the conclusion of the midweek games on Wednesday night, and the Big 12 has a few teams that have been flirting with the bubble in recent weeks.
The latest update is good news for Baylor fans, as Lunardi has bumped the Bears out of the last four byes after their win over TCU. However, the news isn’t nearly as good for the Horned Frogs, as they’ve called out of the bubble projections.
Meanwhile, Cincinnati is still flirting with a tournament bid after their frustrating loss to Kansas State, which led to an epic rant from head coach Wes Miller.
“First of all, give Kansas State credit,” Miller said. “Give Coach Tang and his group credit. It’s unacceptable. The effort is unacceptable the fight is unacceptable. It’s on the head coach. I did it. I’m the leader of the operation and I gotta do a better damn job. It’s on my ass. I’d boo myself too.”
The Bearcats are 17-13 (7-12) on the year, and in Lunardi’s latest projection, they’ve moved up to the No. 74 team, still putting them in the Next Four Out.
Saturday’s season finale against Oklahoma State is obviously a must-win game, but the Bearcats will likely need to win a couple of games in Kansas City next week to get into the field of 68.
