Kansas State has had quite an up-and-down season in 2024-25, and much of the inconsistency throughout the year has been placed on the shoulders of newcomers who were expected to take this team back to the NCAA Tournament.
One of those players is Illinois transfer Coleman Hawkins, who has been one of the Wildcats better players, but has failed to live up to the hype that preceded him.
On Friday, Hawkins revealed something that could be attributed to his struggles this year.
According to a report from Kellis Robinett, Hawkins says that he’s been playing through a fractured tibia, and isn’t close to being 100% heading into the Big 12 Tournament.
Hawkins played against Cincinnati on Wednesday night, scoring nine points and eight rebounds, adding one block and one steal.
Kansas State will close out their regular season against Iowa State on Saturday afternoon and are currently slated as the nine-seed in the Big 12 tournament next week.
