On Friday, the Big 12 Conference made an announcement pertaining to the upcoming 2025 football season, as several games have been flexed to be played on Friday nights.
In a release from the conference, the Big 12 announced that 10 football games have been selected to be played on Fridays throughout the 2025 season.
Here’s the details of the announcement, courtesy of the Big 12 release.
Colorado will open their season on Friday, Aug. 29, as they host Georgia Tech. Baylor will also kick off their 2025 campaign on Aug. 29, when the Auburn Tigers travel to Waco. Two weeks later, Colorado and Houston will square off in Houston on Friday, Sept. 12, joined by Kansas State at Arizona. The battle of the Wildcats will count as a non-conference game due to pre-existing scheduling agreements established before the Big 12 expanded to 16 members.
September’s remaining Friday games include Tulsa at Oklahoma State and TCU at Arizona State. The West Virginia-BYU match-up was previously announced for a Friday designation, taking place on Oct. 3 in Provo, Utah.
After Houston’s meeting at UCF on Friday, Nov. 7, the final two Friday games of the season will be played on Black Friday, and will see Arizona State host Arizona in the Territorial Cup, and Utah take on Kansas in Lawrence.
