While Brett Yormark’s vision for the design of the basketball court at the 2025 Big 12 Tournament may not be for everyone, he enjoys some of the commentary being presented.

Yormark discussed a viral tweet from Barstool Sports that likened the court design to playing basketball on a Louis Vuitton bag.

“What I love the other night, my son was on social media, and he sent me a tweet from Barstool that said, ‘The Big 12 Women are playing on a Louis Vuitton bag,’ Yormark said. Candidly, that’s all I needed to read. That was exactly what we were looking for.”

The initial reception of the design was somewhat mixed, to put it lightly, with many on social media calling out the commissioner for his stylistic choice. Yormark, however, chose to focus on the positive takeaways from the rollout.

“I was teasing everyone that this is our Gucci pattern, but I’m excited for it,” Yomark continued. “In fact, there are a lot of brand extensions off of this court. Think about branded luggage with the 12. Think about hoodies and things of that nature.”

Yormark concluded his thoughts by saying, “This is just the beginning, but we’re all about the 12, and we think we’ve really highlighted it this week.”
