Colorado vs. Houston Predictions
While it’s no secret that the Colorado Buffaloes have been the best story of the Big 12 Tournament so far, they are facing an absolute buzzsaw in Thursday’s game vs. Houston. The Cougars have been the Big 12’s best team since opening night and have not looked back. They lost just one game in conference play to the Texas Tech Red Raiders, a game that went to overtime.
Colorado is fresh off of wins over TCU and West Virginia; two games that the Buffaloes came back from double-digit deficits to win. In their most recent win, a 67-60 upset over West Virginia, the Buffaloes found some explosive production from senior center Elijah Malone, who posted 12 second-half points in the comeback.
The downside of being the worst regular season team in the Big 12 comes with a cost, though, with Houston waiting atop the bracket. The Cougars finished second in the 2024 Big 12 Tournament before a deep run in the NCAA Tournament. To say that Kelvin Sampson’s group will be ready for revenge might be an understatement at this point. Colorado’s impressive stretch comes to an end against the Big 12 heavyweights.
Houston 74, Colorado 50
