The best player in college basketball might be in danger of missing some time with the NCAA Tournament coming in a matter of days.
Duke superstar freshman Cooper Flagg was forced to exit the court late in the first half of the Blue Devils’ game against Georgia Tech at the ACC Tournament.
While grabbing a rebound, Flagg landed awkwardly on the foot of a Georgia Tech defender and injured his ankle.
After lying on the court for a bit, he was helped to the bench and received treatment, but was later helped to the locker room. Then, after a few moments, Flagg was seen exiting the locker room in a wheelchair and being taken for further evaluation.
If Flagg is forced to miss any time at all, it would be detrimental for the Blue Devils, who are currently the top-ranked team in the AP Poll and in contention for the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Flagg is a huge part of that, averaging 19.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game this season. He’s the runaway favorite to win the John Wooden Award, with FanDuel has him listed at -195 to take home.
