The transfer portal has provided some wild stories over the last couple of years, and it appears that we’ve got another doozie cooking up in the state of Texas.

According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, Texas A&M wide receiver Micah Hudson is set to re-enter the transfer portal after spending just a matter of weeks with the program. Nakos’ report came shortly after Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko confirmed that Hudson was no longer with the Aggies’ program.

The former five-star prospect was one of the top overall players in the class of 2024 and drew comparisons to Garrett Wilson coming out of high school.

Hudson played eight games for Texas Tech this past season, but struggled to make an impact for the Red Raiders, finishing with just eight catches for 123 yards. He could find retribution for a disappointing season in Lubbock, though, as Nakos also reported that a return to Texas Tech is a possibility.

It wouldn’t be the first time that we’ve seen a five-star prospect leave their team just to return to the roster after a short hiatus. Alabama offensive lineman Kadyn Proctor transferred to Iowa during the 2024 cycle and ended up back in Tuscaloosa before summer workouts began.

The spring transfer window will officially open on April 16, and will remain open until April 25, allowing players a 10-day period to enter their names into the database.
