The 2025 NCAA Tournament is underway and with all the First Round Big 12 games wrapped up, the league has finished with a 6-1 record. The only Big 12 team to lose in the first round was the Kansas Jayhawks, who came up short against Arkansas on Thursday night.

Here are the results of the first round Big 12 games.

NCAA Tournament: Big 12 First Round Scores

Thursday Games:

Houston 78, SIUE 40

BYU 80, VCU 71

Arkansas 79, Kansas 72

Texas Tech 82, UNC Wilmington 72

Friday Games:

Baylor 75, Mississippi State 72

Iowa State 82, Lipscomb 55

Arizona 93, Akron 65

This is a much better than last season, when the Big 12 had eight teams make the 2024 NCAA Tournament and the league went 5-3 in the first round games, while only two teams advanced to the 2024 Sweet 16. The Big 12 had zero teams reach the Elite 8 in 2024. Houston and Iowa State reached the Sweet 16 for the league last year, but Iowa State fell to Illinois and Houston lost to Duke.

The Big 12 Conference received seven bids this season, which is half of what the SEC received, as 14 of their 16 teams made the Big Dance.
