On Monday, the first player to hit the transfer portal from Baylor surfaced, and that player is a big one.

The Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman was the first to announce that junior guard Langston Love has decided to go portaling following an up-and-down season with the Bears.

In 2024-25, Love saw action in 20 games, averaging 26.4 minutes per night. He posted 8.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game on 38.9% shooting from the field in his third year with the Bears.

Coming out of Monteverde Academy in the Class of 2021, Love was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 38th-ranked player. He also checked in as the ninth-ranked player at his position and the seventh-ranked player in the state of Texas.

The transfer portal officially opens on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
