It’s a big day for Arizona basketball, and it just got bigger. The Wildcats were already set to face No. 1 Duke in the Sweet 16 tonight, but just before noon, Arizona picked up a commitment from five-star forward, Koa Peat.
One of the top players in the Class of 2025, Peat is listed at 6-foot-8, 220 pounds and ranks as the No. 8 overall player in the class and the No. 3 forward, according to 247Sports.
Peat made his announcement on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Thursday, choosing the Wildcats over Arizona State, Baylor, Houston, and Texas.
“Their culture is like family; they are all there for each other,” Peat said. “The fans and atmosphere are incredible. I feel blessed to stay home to continue my basketball journey and legacy in Arizona.”
Peat joins four-star SF Dwayne Aristode (No. 31 OVR) and three-star PG Bryce James as a three-man class for the Wildcats, which now ranks 16th nationally for 2025.
Peat should step right in and be an immediate contributor in 2025, as freshman forward Carter Bryant is likely headed to the NBA as he’s projected to go in the top-20 of this year’s NBA Draft.
