One of the best wide receivers that college football has ever seen will be honored in Stillwater this coming fall, as Oklahoma State has announced that Justin Blackmon will be inducted into the ring of honor on November 15, when the Pokes host Kansas State.
Blackmon, who was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame last year, was a back-to-back winner of the Fred Biletnikoff Award in 2010 and 2011. During his record-setting sophomore campaign in 2010, Blackmon hauled in 111 receptions for 1,782 yards and 20 touchdowns.
In 2011, Blackmon played a pivotal role in securing Oklahoma State’s first Big 12 title, recording 122 catches, 1,522 yards, and 18 touchdowns.
During his reign as the hardest cover assignment in the Big 12, Blackmon set NCAA records that still stand to this day, most notably his 14-game streak with at least 100 yards receiving and one touchdown.
In addition to several other honors, Blackmon is the only two-time unanimous All-American selection in Oklahoma State Football history. He is one of eight Oklahoma State icons in the College Football Hall of Fame, joined by joined by coach Lynn “Pappy” Waldorf (inducted in 1966), Bob Fenimore (inducted in 1972), Barry Sanders (inducted in 2003), Thurman Thomas (inducted in 2008), coach Jimmy Johnson (inducted in 2012), Leslie O’Neal (inducted in 2020) and Terry Miller (inducted in 2022).
He will join Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders, Bob Fenimore, Terry Miller, and Leslie O’Neal as the sixth member inducted into the Oklahoma State Football Ring of Honor.
