In one of the strangest stories of the 2024-25 athletic season, Texas Tech head coach Grant McCasland was revealed to have an incredibly unique hobby.

In a recent CBS Sports article, McCasland highlighted his personal miniature donkey farm, a place where he unwinds from the daily stress of coaching.

 

In the midst of Texas Tech’s incredible NCAA Tournament run, McCasland has found some much-needed peace at his favorite place to be. McCasland introduced multiple of his miniature donkeys including, Harry, Dolly, Tina, Judy, Deloris, and Margeret.

In addition to the donkey farm, the McCasland household likes to spend their time playing basketball, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with one another.

1,400 miles away from his home in Lubbock, Texas, McCasland and the Texas Tech Red Raiders get set for a Sweet 16 matchup against Arkansas. That game tips off on Thursday, March 27th, at 9:09 p.m. central in San Francisco, California.
