According to a report from ESPN’s Jeff Borzello, Baylor shooting guard Jalen Celestine will enter the transfer portal after spending one season with the Bears.
Celestine transferred to Baylor after spending the first three seasons of his career with Cal. In his lone season in Waco, Celestine appeared in 31 games with 11 starts and averaged 7.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game.
He shot 38% from the floor and 35.4% from three, and averaged about 25 minutes per game for Scott Drew in 2024-25.
Celestine’s exit comes at an interesting time, as the Bears just added Wyoming shooting guard Obi Agbim, who was considered one of the better players available in the portal.
Agbim averaged 17.6 points, 3.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per game in 2024-25, and likely would’ve had a leg up in the race for minutes next season.
As such, it makes sense that Celestine would hit the portal to see if there are better opportunities for him, elsewhere. The 6-foot-7 senior will have one season of eligibility remaining.
