Scott Drew and the Baylor Bears continued their hot streak on Thursday with the addition of Omaha transfer guard JJ White.

White, listed at 6-foot-2, coming off his third and most productive season with the Mavericks, averaging 13.7 points, 4.0 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game in 2024-25.

Over the last three years, White has consistently seen around 27 minutes per game and has a total of 99 appearance and 75 starts in that time. This past season, he started 25 games and appeared in all 35 contest for the Mavericks.

White is a much-needed addition for a Baylor team that will need to revamp its backcourt with VJ Edgecombe headed to the NBA, as he shot 44.2% from three-point range this season—making him one of the most efficient shooters in the country.

Plus, he gets to the line consistently and does well there, too, making 79.5% of his 122 free throw attempts this season.

Omaha made the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a 15-seed and faced No. 2 St. John’s in the first round of action. In that game, White recorded 15 points, five assists, three rebounds, and one steal.

With White now on board, Scott Drew and the Bears have made three portal additions this cycle. He joins Oregon State transfer forward Michael Rataj and Wyoming guard Obi Agbim, giving Baylor the No. 6 transfer portal class in the country, according to 247Sports.
