Texas A&M is still looking for a head basketball coach after Buzz Williams left to take the Maryland job earlier this week, and there are two Big 12 names among the list of candidates who could land in College Station.

Williams spent six seasons at Texas A&M and compiled a 120-73 record with the Aggies, finishing with 20+ wins in each of his last four seasons. After finishing as the NIT runner-up in 2022, Williams led A&M to three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, and made it to the second round in each of the last two tournaments.

However, his legacy will now continue with the Terrapins, while the Aggies look for a new leader.

According to the latest odds from BetOnline, Oklahoma head coach Porter Moser is the favorite to end up with the Aggies, at 3/1 odds.

There are 16 names on the oddsboard, though, and two of them are in the Big 12.

The first is Grant McCasland (+800), who is fresh off an Elite Eight appearance with the Texas Tech Red Raiders. McCasland led TTU to a 28-9 record and a second-place finish in the Big 12 in just his second season in Lubbock. He currently has the eighth-best odds of taking the job.

The second Big 12 coach on the board is Iowa State head coach T.J. Otzelberger (+2000), who has four NCAA Tournament appearances and two Sweet 16 appearances in four years with the Cyclones. ISU dealt with some injuries late in the 2024-25 season and ended up getting bounced in the second round of the tournament this year. However, they finished the year with a 25-10 mark and a fifth-place finish in the Big 12.
