On Sunday, one former member of the Big 12 Conference is set to return to the conference in 2025-26 wearing a different jersey than in 2023-24.

Kentucky guard Kerr Kriisa announced on Instagram that he intends to transfer to Cincinnati and team up with Wes Miller and the Bearcats.

After starting his career at Arizona, where he spent three seasons, Kriisa made the jump to West Virginia, where he played for interim head coach Josh Eilert. Following a disappointing 2023-24, Kriisa transferred to Kentucky, where he played just nine games due to a season-ending injury.

Coming out of Estonia in the Class of 2020, Kriisa was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 69th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 12th-ranked player at his position and the No. 1 player in his country.

The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in the 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
