On Saturday morning, Ross Hodge and the West Virginia Mountaineers added a new name in the transfer portal with the commitment of Chattanooga guard Honor Huff.

Hoff, a 5-foot-10 senior from Brooklyn, New York, spent the past two seasons with the Mocs, where he developed into a star in the backcourt.

Last season at Chattanooga, the Florida native posted 15.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game on 42.4% shooting from the field. He also connected on 41.6% of his shots from three-point land and 82% from the free-throw line.

Coming out of Perkiomen High School in the Class of 2021, Huff was listed as an unranked prospect by most major recruiting services. Three seasons after committing to the Virginia Military Institute, Huff earned a four-star rating by the 247Sports index and currently checks in as the 253rd-best player available.

The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, March 24, 2025. According to NCAA data, 1,296 FBS basketball players entered the transfer portal in the 2023-24 school year, with 864 (66.7%) undergraduates and 432 (33.3%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 70% reported that they enrolled in another school, 6% withdrew their names from the portal, and 23% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
