One Big 12 quarterback isn’t going far for his next destination. Former TCU signal caller Hauss Hejny announced on social media on Friday night he is transferring from the Horned Frogs and joining the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Reports surfaced of Hejny’s decision last Sunday, but the signal caller made it official on Friday night with this post on X.
The move follows a new hire made in Stillwater this offseason, with the Cowboys poaching TCU assistant coach Doug Meacham as the team’s new offensive coordinator under Mike Gundy.
Coming out of Aledo High School in the Class of 2024, Hejny was listed as a four-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 201st-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the 12th-ranked player at his position and the 32nd-ranked player in the state of Texas.
In his lone season with the Horned Frogs, Hejny did not see the field. He heads to Stillwater with four years of eligibility remaining.
With the commitment, Oklahoma State has now added a total of 17 different players through the transfer portal. The group is headlined by UTEP edge Kyran Duhon, Oklahoma running back Kalib Hicks, LSU’s JK Johnson, and more.
The Cowboys will be looking for quarterback in 2025 to replace Alan Bowman.
The transfer portal officially opened on Monday, December 9, 2024, and remained open until Saturday, December 28, with an exception for players on teams who play bowl games after the window closes. According to NCAA data, 2,273 FBS football players entered the transfer portal in 2023-24 school year, with 1,558 (68.5%) undergraduates and 715 (31.5%) graduate transfers. Of the entrants, 57% reported that they enrolled in another school, 8% withdrew their names from the portal, and 35% are still active, transferred to a non-NCAA school, or left their sport.
