One of college football’s bright young stars is none other than Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith.
Smith, a 6-foot-3 true freshman wide receiver, has solidified himself as one of the nation’s best with more than 1,200 receiving yards in his first year of college football.
When coming out of high school, Smith also competed in track, where he posted some unreal numbers. Smith recorded a 14.34 in the 110-meter hurdles and a 22.08 in the 200-meter dash.
One athlete headed to the Big 12 this fall is Kansas State tight end commit Linkon Cure. The Kansas native became the top-ranked high school prospect to join the Wildcats in program history, with Chris Klieman’s group beating out Oregon, Texas A&M, Alabama, Oklahoma, Kansas, and many more.
Coming out of Goodland High School in the Class of 2025, Cure is listed as a five-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 27th-ranked prospect. He also checked in as the nation’s top-ranked player at his position and the second-ranked player in the state of Kansas.
In addition to his heroics on the football field, Cure also happens to be a star track athlete with some blazing-fast numbers of his own. The Goodland native has some similar numbers to Smith, with a 14.49 in the 110-meter hurdles and a 21.90 in the 200-meter dash, despite being three inches taller and five pounds heavier than the Buckeye star.
While track numbers may not amount to the same amount of success on the football field in year one, it goes without saying that K-State has a star in the making with Cure.
