Lane Kiffin, one of the loudest coaches in college football, made a living this offseason when discussing SEC hypothetical matchups.
On Sunday morning, Kiffin responded to a hypothetical matchup between the Ole Miss Rebels and the BYU Cougars, each of whom was viewed as a snub for the College Football Playoff.
Kiffin responded to a post from RedditCFP that posed a hypothetical matchup between Ole Miss and BYU next week after both teams won their bowl game matchups.
Kiffin made the most noise of any team to miss the College Football Playoff in 2024, openly advocating against SMU and Indiana. The Rebels, however, did lose to 6-5 Florida and 4-8 Kentucky, whose lone SEC win came against Ole Miss.
After throttling the Colorado Buffaloes in the Alamo Bowl, the BYU Cougars started to get some recognition as a playoff snub. The matchup would be an exciting sight as the Rebels finished 10-3 overall, and the Cougars finished 11-2.
Kiffin posted several tweets during the College Football Playoff, posts that included going out of his way to cheer Georgia on the same day his team played to direct shots at the CFP for including SMU and Indiana in the field.
Realistically, SEC teams struggled in the playoff and provided some of the worst losses in the bracket. If the Cougars and Rebels were to square off in a post-season exhibition, Kiffin would likely have much, much more to say about the current playoff field.
