On Monday night, Kenny Dillingham and the Arizona State Sun Devils got one of their most important offseason acquisitions from a player already in Tempe.

Sophomore wide receiver Jordyn Tyson announced on social media that he would be returning to Arizona State next fall after his incredible 2024 season.

Tyson solidified himself as one of the best wide receivers in the country this season with 75 catches for 1,101 yards and 10 scores before his season-ending injury in the Big 12 Championship Game. He transferred to ASU after starting his career with the Colorado Buffaloes in 2022.

Coming out of Allen High School in the Class of 2022, Tyson was listed as a three-star prospect by the 247Sports index and the nation’s 917th-ranked player. He also checked in as the 131st-ranked player at his position and the 132nd-ranked player in the state of Texas.

He posted some impressive numbers at Colorado in his true freshman season, with 22 grabs for 470 yards and four scores. He then transferred to ASU as a Top 100 transfer in the portal but only saw action in three games in 2023 due to an injury.

He quickly became Sam Leavitt’s top target during the team’s run to the College Football Playoff. Tyson played a large roll in the team finishing 11-3, and though he missed out on the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, the Sun Devils should find themselves in position to compete for a Big 12 title yet again next fall.
