Texas Longhorns quarterback Quinn Ewers has made the decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Ewers’ agent, Ron Slavin, shared the news with ESPN, as Ewers’ college career comes to an end after losing to Ohio State last week in the College Football Playoff.

A three-year starter for the Longhorns, Ewers held a 21-5 record as a starter in Austin and played a pivotal role in helping Steve Sarkisian get the Texas football program back to prominence.

Over his three seasons, Ewers completed 64.9% of his attempts for 9,128 yards and 68 touchdowns with 24 interceptions. Ewers had career highs in both touchdowns (31) and interceptions (12) in the 2024 season while completing 65.8% of his attempts for 3,472 yards.

With Ewers now officially out of the locker room in Austin, the path is clear for Arch Manning to take over as the Longhorns’ starting quarterback. It’s a long-awaited moment for the redshirt freshman, as Manning has already shown Texas fans what he’s capable of in 2024, completing 61 of 90 attempts (67.8%) for nine touchdowns and two interceptions, adding 108 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.

According to ESPN, Ewers ranks as the No. 3 quarterback in this draft class, behind Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward, while coming in just ahead of Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel.

The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to begin on Thursday, April 24, at 7:00 p.m. CT in Detroit, Michigan.
