The 2025 College Football Hall of Fame Class was revealed on Wednesday during an episode of “College Football Live” on ESPN2.
The class comprises 18 former First-Team All-Americans and four standout coaches, all of which were from the national ballot of 77 players and nine coaches from the Football Bowl Subdivision and 101 players and 34 coaches from the divisional ranks, according to a release.
Among the list of inductees are a few names associated with former and current Big 12 programs.
Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell (2005-08) is the first Big 12 name to appear on the list after throwing for an NCAA-record 134 touchdowns and the second-most career passing yards in NCAA history (15,793).
Next was Texas defensive back Michael Huff (2002-05), who was named the defensive MVP of the Longhorns’ 2005 national championship game against USC. Huff was Texas’ first Jim Thorpe Award winner and set school records for most defensive touchdowns (five) and most interceptions returned for a touchdown (four).
West Virginia running back Steve Slaton (2005-07) is the final Big 12 player on the list, who earned first-team All-American status in 2006 after setting a single-season rushing record with 1,744 yards and finished fourth in the Heisman Trophy voting.
The lone coach with Big 12 ties, though a reach, is Urban Meyer, who spent the 2003-04 seasons at Utah, where he held a 22-2 record.
